Our VisionA lot is required to prepare young people with migratory skills from education towards the labor market. Student jobs are a key to this. Foreign-speaking young people gain relevant experience that will be useful in their first job later, allowing them to start their first job with more confidence. Moreover, a student job broadens the social network of the young people, they learn the Dutch language in a real-life situation and a natural integration process takes place through work. A win-win for society, the employer and the newcomer.

Our GoalWith this project, we want to create a bridge between non-native speakers and the regular labor market. By focusing on student jobs for non-native speakers, we want to reduce the existing gap of migrant youth to the labor market.

Our ChallengeStudent jobs for young newcomers with migration roots is almost an unexplored area in research and in social projects. We take up the challenge, because it is a key to the labor market and to integration for young people.
Specific challenges we take on in the project: 1. Clarification of the regulations regarding student jobs for newcomers 2. Scriptbook with teaching material for teachers who want to join young newcomers on the search for student jobs 3. Marketplace for companies and students with a migration background looking for a student job 4. Study day for employers on this theme |
